Charles is a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina. In 2003, he graduated from Wofford College, magna cum laude, with a double major in English and business economics. During his senior year at Wofford, he received the L. Harris Chewning Award, the highest distinction within his English major.
Charles attended law school at the University of South Carolina. During his third year of law school, he received the Claud Sapp Award, given annually to a member of the graduating class who demonstrates qualities of scholarship, leadership and industry.
Before beginning his civil litigation practice in 2008, Charles served as a law clerk for the Honorable John C. Hayes, III of South Carolina’s Sixteenth Judicial Circuit.
Charles’ practice is devoted to representing people and corporations in complex civil litigation. He has represented clients in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, legal malpractice, business litigation, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, and insurance bad faith.
Charles is admitted to practice in South Carolina’s state courts, where he has represented clients at trial and on appeal, as well as the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Richland County Bar Association and the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Charles has been featured as a lecturer and author on topics related to legal ethics and legal malpractice.
